Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!
Fun fact! My book, Ring a Ring a Rosé, is printed right here in Australia. Now more than ever we all want to support our own and I have proudly chosen to go with a company that has local printing facilities.
I have always been a proud Aussie bogan, if you know me well, you will know that I have a particular tattoo that is very Aussie, I had it done on my 30th birthday with my sister after chickening out on skydiving. I also had a very loose but deliberate Aussie theme for my wedding to Paul, we had teal bridesmaids and yellow flowers and gum leaves in our bouquets. Also, our chef infused Australian bush herbs into the food, yum!
It shouldn’t be a new thing that we look to buy local, it is a no brainer to support our own. I love the suggestion getting around that there should be at least one aisle in supermarkets dedicated to Australia Made products, how good would that be?
Then, of course, it’s an even better idea to get more local and support your own community. Go to Farmers Markets and little boutique coffee shops and family-run restaurants, buy the local milk (Whitsunday Dairy Fresh!). Small changes in your choices to keep the community strong. I’ve been very lucky and feel very supported by my local area with my book available to buy in 4 locations around Mackay and 2 other locations in Queensland.
My amazing local stockists are …
Nextra Gifts Mount Pleasant, Mt Pleasant Post Office, Startcut Flowers Fourways, K & Co Mackay, Gladstone Central News & Gifts and The Mumsie & Co. Noosa.
If you’re favourite gift shop doesn’t stock Ring a Ring a Rosé, give them my deets! x
